What youll be doing with us:
As our Sous Chef, you will be reporting into our Executive Head Chef, you will be building, developing and leading a team of up to 25 chefs, delivering excellent dishes across Seven North, The Cover, our hotel room and breakfast offerings. You'll work closely with the Executive Chef, bringing your creativity and expertise to the table.
Your responsibilities will include assisting in menu planning in line with our zero waste and sustainable vision, overseeing day-to-day operations, and training our kitchen team members to uphold our high standards. As Sous Chef, you will be responsible for ensuring all health and safety standards are met, reviewing regularly the kitchen equipment, ensuring all HACCP guidelines documented and are being followed by team kitchen members.
Your dedication to quality and efficiency will ensure our kitchen runs smoothly, while your collaborative spirit will contribute to a vibrant dining experience for our guests.
Job requirements
Proven experience as a Sous Chef or similar role in a high-volume, upscale restaurant environment.
Extensive knowledge of culinary techniques, ingredients, and international cuisines.
Strong leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire a diverse team.
Excellent organisational and time management abilities, with a keen eye for detail.
A passion for food and a commitment to delivering exceptional dining experiences.
Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
Formal culinary training and relevant certifications preferred.
Knowledge of food cost control, menu engineering, and kitchen management systems is a plus.
Given that we're in the preopening phase, we need someone who can adapt and thrive in a dynamic environment. The successful candidate will ideally join us in July 2024.
