We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Cost Estimator. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in our sales process by handling incoming enquiries from new customers, estimating costs based on their orders, and ensuring seamless communication between various departments to deliver accurate and timely quotes. The primary focus of this role is to increase conversion rates with customers from initial enquiry through to final delivery.
Cost Estimator main duties:
Handle incoming enquiries from new customers and gather necessary information to prepare cost estimates.
Analyse customer orders and specifications to determine material and labor costs.
Liaise with the purchasing department to confirm part specifications, process time, and client requirements.
Prepare and submit detailed and accurate quotes to customers in a timely manner.
Keep customers informed and updated on the status of their enquiries and orders.
Follow up with customers to address any questions or concerns and provide support throughout the sales process.
Collaborate with internal teams to ensure smooth execution of orders and timely delivery.
Continuously identify opportunities to improve processes and increase conversion rates.
Cost Estimator desired skills and experience:
Proven experience in cost estimation, preferably in a manufacturing or engineering environment.
Strong analytical and mathematical skills with attention to detail.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with customers and internal teams.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and ERP software (e.g., SAP, Oracle).
Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
Knowledge of manufacturing processes and materials is preferred.
Previous experience in sales or customer service is a plus.
