Role & Responsibilities:
As an Assistant Accountant, you will play a key role in:
Assisting with monthly management reports and cash flow forecasting.
Managing debtors, including credit control and customer monitoring.
Updating and reconciling financial ledgers and resolving discrepancies.
Preparing annual budgets and monthly contract profitability reports.
Strengthening financial controls and ensuring adherence to GAP.
Conducting bank and CIS return reconciliations.
Ensuring HMRC compliance, particularly with VAT and CIS.
Maintaining accurate records for audit purposes.
Assisting Directors, Project Managers, and the Accounts team with various tasks.
General office duties including answering calls and resolving issues.
Requirements & Skills:
Accounting qualification.
Minimum of 3 years’ accounting experience.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Proficient in accounting principles, budgeting, and analytics.
Team player with the ability to prioritise and meet deadlines.
Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy.
Experience with accounting software like Xero or QuickBooks.
Construction industry experience is advantageous.
Own transport is required due to the office’s rural location.
