Overview We are seeking a skilled and motivated Electrical Engineer to join our team specializing in industrial plant solutions, particularly within the power generation sector. Responsibilities
Design and Documentation: Create electrical and instrumentation system designs, layouts, schematics, and specifications while ensuring compliance with the latest standards and operational requirements.
Site Assessments: Conduct site surveys to verify existing installations, interpret as-built conditions, and identify constraints for brownfield upgrades.
Project Support: Assist in installation, testing, troubleshooting, and commissioning activities, including participation in Factory Acceptance Tests (FATs) and Site Acceptance Tests (SATs).
Collaboration: Work closely with subcontractors, suppliers, and multidisciplinary teams to ensure seamless project execution.
Quality Control: Verify and challenge existing drawings and vendor information, ensuring accuracy and alignment with project schedules.
Reporting: Collect, analyze, and report data to provide actionable insights and recommendations.
Safety and Compliance: Prioritize safety in all activities, adhering to established safety practices and procedures.Qualifications
Education: Degree or HNC/HND in Electrical Engineering, or equivalent experience.
Technical Expertise: Proficiency in low-voltage power distribution, control panels, protection systems, cable sizing, and related calculations.
Instrumentation Knowledge: Familiarity with PLC interfaces, alarms, interlocks, and control philosophy.
Software Skills: Proficiency in design tools such as AutoCAD, EPLAN, or Inventor.
Standards Awareness: Understanding of relevant electrical standards (IEC, NEC, etc.).
Practical Experience: Hands-on experience with installation, commissioning, and troubleshooting in live plant environments.Day-to-Day
Review client specifications and project requirements to develop tailored electrical designs.
Conduct site visits to assess existing installations and identify practical constraints.
Collaborate with mechanical engineers and other team members to align designs and ensure project success.
Support fabricators and suppliers during quality reviews and inspections.
Participate in safety reviews, including HAZID, HAZOP, and HAZCON processes.
Provide technical support during project phases, including troubleshooting and commissioning.Benefits
