Job Description

Controls / Automation Engineer Birmingham | £50,000–£70,000 | Permanent | Days We’re looking for a Controls / Automation Engineer to join a growing, highly automated manufacturing operation that has recently moved from NPI into high-volume production. This is a fast-paced environment with extensive PLC, robotics, sensors, motion control, inspection and automated handling. The Role You’ll be hands‑on, supporting the equipment, resolving faults and driving continuous improvement. You’ll work across: PLC programming, fault-finding & modifications HMI, sensors, servo and motion systems Robotics and automated equipment Commissioning and optimisation Root‑cause analysis and continuous improvement Improving reliability, throughput and OEE About You We’re open to experience across any major PLC platform, including Beckhoff, Siemens, Rockwell/Allen-Bradley or Mitsubishi. You’ll need strong practical Controls / Automation experience and be comfortable getting into the PLC logic rather than simply identifying faults. Experience in high-volume manufacturing, automotive, plastics or FMCG would be advantageous. £50k–£70k | Permanent | Days | Birmingham
