We believe in giving you more time to do the things you love outside of work Job Title: Learning Support AssistantLocation: The Wenlock School, Dudley, West Midlands, DY1 3SBHours: 37.5 per week | Monday to Friday | Monday 8:15am - 4:30pm, Tuesday - Friday 8:15am - 3:45pmSalary: £22,160.62 per annum (not pro rata)Contract: Permanent | Term Time OnlyStart: November 2026UK applicants only – no sponsorship available About the Role We're looking for a passionate and caring Learning Support Assistant to join our specialist team and help students overcome barriers to learning, build confidence, and achieve their full potential. This is much more than a classroom support role. You'll work closely with students who require individualised support, helping them develop academically, socially, and emotionally. Every day brings new challenges, achievements, and opportunities to positively impact a young person's future. Working alongside teachers, therapists, families, and external professionals, you'll play a key role in creating a safe, nurturing environment where students feel understood, valued, and empowered to succeed. Whether you're an experienced Learning Support Assistant or someone with the right values, resilience, and passion for supporting young people with SEND, we'd love to hear from you. What you will be doing Providing dedicated 1:1 and small group support for students with additional needs Helping students overcome social, emotional, communication, and learning barriers Supporting students both inside and outside of the classroom to maximise engagement and progress Building positive, trusting relationships that promote confidence, independence, and wellbeing Working collaboratively with teachers, families, therapists, and external agencies Contributing to a safe, inclusive, and nurturing learning environment where every student can thrive What you will bring A minimum Level 3 qualification GCSE Grade C/4 or above (or equivalent) in English and Maths required Experience supporting children or young people with SEND, SEMH, or additional learning needs Excellent communication and teamwork skills A calm, resilient, and nurturing approach A genuine passion for helping students reach their potential About Us Opened in 2018, The Wenlock School is a co-educational day school for students aged 7–18 with social, emotional, and mental health (SEMH) needs, autism, and associated learning differences.
