Quality Engineer

Job Description

The Best Connection are recruiting for a Quality Engineer on behalf of our client in West Bromwich.

Salary: £30,000 - £40,000 per annum (depending on experience)

Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:00am - 4:00pm

About the Role

We are seeking a proactive and hands-on Quality Engineer. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced quality professional who enjoys working closely with manufacturing and logistics teams, solving technical quality issues, supporting customer investigations, and driving continuous improvement across a busy production environment.

The successful candidate will play a key role in maintaining compliance with ISO 9001, ATEX, and UL standards, while supporting product and process approvals, improving Right First Time (RFT) performance, and implementing effective corrective actions throughout the business.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support and maintain the Quality Management System in line with ISO 9001 requirements.
  • Investigate customer complaints and non-conformances, identifying root causes and implementing corrective actions.
  • Work closely with manufacturing and logistics teams to resolve technical quality issues.
  • Support product and process approvals, ensuring compliance with relevant standards and specifications.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance quality performance and RFT results.
  • Conduct audits and support compliance with ISO 9001, ATEX, and UL requirements.
  • Analyse quality data and produce reports to identify trends and opportunities for improvement.
  • Promote a culture of quality, accountability, and continuous improvement across the business.

What We're Looking For

  • Previous experience in a Quality Engineer or similar quality-focused role within a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong knowledge of quality systems and continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Experience with ISO 9001 standards and quality management systems.
  • Understanding of root cause analysis and corrective action processes.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to work effectively across multiple departments.
  • Knowledge of ATEX and UL standards would be advantageous.
