Job Description

Mechanical Technician / Workshop Technician

A great opportunity for a mechanically minded, practical person who enjoys working with tools and equipment to build their skills in a busy workshop. Direct tool hire experience is not essential: transferable mechanical ability, a hands-on approach and the willingness to learn are key, with structured training and development provided.

SALARY: £35,000 - £40,000 per annum (depending on experience) + Benefits

LOCATION: Brentwood, Essex

JOB TYPE: Full-Time, Permanent

WORKING HOURS: Monday to Friday, 8:30am – 6:00pm

JOB OVERVIEW

This is an excellent opportunity for a Mechanical Technician / Workshop Technician who enjoys practical problem-solving and wants to develop their skills while working on a varied range of small hire equipment, pipe welding tools and general power tools.

The Mechanical Technician / Workshop Technician will inspect, service, maintain and repair equipment, learning to diagnose mechanical, hydraulic, electrical and pneumatic faults while ensuring items are safe and ready for hire.

Previous experience in a Tool Fitter role is not essential. The position could suit someone from an adjacent mechanical, engineering, maintenance or workshop background, or a practically capable candidate with strong mechanical aptitude and confidence using tools and equipment.

With structured in-house and external training available, the Mechanical Technician / Workshop Technician can build technical knowledge while contributing to a busy, safety-focused workshop team.
