Job Description

CNC Miller / Programmer

Location: Maldon, Essex

Job Type: Permanent, Full-Time

Hours: 40 hours per week – Overtime available

Start: ASAP

We are recruiting for an experienced CNC Miller / Programmer to join a well-established precision engineering business in the Maldon area.

The company provides precision CNC machining and engineering services, manufacturing high-quality components to customer specifications across a range of applications. Due to workload and continued demand, they are looking to add an experienced CNC Miller to their small, skilled team.

This is an urgent requirement and would suit someone confident programming and setting CNC milling machines who can work independently from engineering drawings.

The Role

As a CNC Miller / Programmer, you will be responsible for:

* Programming and setting CNC milling machines

* Writing CNC programmes from scratch using Siemens ShopMill

* Working accurately from engineering drawings and specifications

* Setting up and proving out new jobs

* Selecting appropriate tooling, feeds, speeds and machining strategies

* Producing high-quality precision components to required tolerances

* Carrying out relevant checks to ensure components meet specification

* Working closely with a small, experienced engineering team

Essential Experience

* 3+ years' experience in CNC milling, programming and setting

* Strong hands-on experience with Siemens ShopMill

* Ability to write CNC programmes from scratch

* Confident reading and interpreting engineering drawings and tolerances

* Good understanding of tooling, cutting conditions, feeds and speeds

* Able to set and prove out jobs independently

* Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing quality work

Desirable

* Experience using Fusion 360 would be advantageous

* Previous experience within a precision or subcontract engineering environment

You'll be joining a small, dedicated team who are passionate about the work they produce, making this a great opportunity for an experienced CNC Miller who enjoys taking ownership of their machining work
