Role Description

We are seeking a skilled Assistant Manager with strong leadership and communication abilities to guide the team toward achieving sales and KPI targets while providing outstanding service.

Responsibilities

• Support the Store Manager in effectively running store operations to meet or exceed sales and KPI targets. Set clear sales goals, track performance, and evolve processes to drive store growth.
• Create a positive team culture through recruiting, training and developing staff. Build a motivated, high-performing team to support store success.
• Analyse sales data and financial reports to make informed decisions with the Store Manager and respond to opportunities operationally and commercially.
• Act as the point of contact for colleagues in the manager’s absence.
• Provide excellent customer service, address inquiries and resolve complaints professionally.
• Support day-to-day operations, including opening and closing procedures.
• Assist with cash management tasks, such as processing transactions and reconciling tills.
• Participate in hiring, onboarding and training new employees.
• Provide feedback and coaching to colleagues to improve performance.
• Support the Store Manager in maintaining staff schedules to ensure proper coverage and productivity.

Role Objectives and KPIs

• Contribute to achieving or exceeding the store’s monthly sales target.
• Drive KPIs including units, conversion, ATV, and UPT.
• Achieve upselling and cross-selling targets.
• Maintain a high Net Promoter Score (NPS).
• Ensure stock accuracy during store audits.
• Ensure all new colleagues complete mandatory training.
• Maintain employee engagement scores meeting or exceeding company benchmarks.
• Assist in keeping operational costs within the allocated budget.

Skills and Experience

• Previous supervisory or management experience in a fast-paced retail/customer-facing environment.
• Passionate about retail with a good understanding of the latest trends and competitors.
• Experience coaching and developing individuals.
• Strong communication skills.
• Proven track record of achieving and exceeding sales targets and KPIs.
• Experience analysing KPI data to inform commercial decisions.
• Keen eye for detail and commerciality; visual merchandising experience is advantageous.
