Site Manager

Job Description

Site Manager

Location: Syngenta, Huddersfield
Salary: £32,500 per annum
Hours: Full Time, 40 hours per week (paid 37.5 hours)
Working Pattern: Monday to Friday, 7:00am to 3:00pm or 8:00am to 4:00pm (30-minute unpaid break daily)

About the Role

Kingdom is looking for an experienced and proactive Site Manager to oversee day-to-day operations at our client site, Syngenta in Huddersfield.

As the on-site leader and Kingdom brand ambassador, you will be responsible for managing the onsite team, maintaining exceptional service standards, ensuring compliance, and delivering an outstanding customer experience. You will play a key role in supporting operational continuity, identifying service improvements, and providing hands‑on leadership across the site.

Key Responsibilities

Service Standards

  • Ensure compliance with all contractual, quality, safety, regulatory, and company requirements.
  • Monitor service delivery to ensure customer expectations are consistently met.
  • Maintain and review site instructions, procedures, and compliance documentation.
  • Conduct regular audits, inspections, and site checks.

Operational Management

  • Manage the day-to-day operation of the site and onsite team.
  • Carry out performance reviews and provide colleague support.
  • Maintain a visible presence across the estate.
  • Ensure all operational activities are completed safely and efficiently.

Shift It Team Management

Manage and coordinate the Shift It Team, including:

  • Laundry operations
  • Office moves
  • Stores and material movements across the estate

Risk Management & Issue Resolution

  • Identify and mitigate operational risks.
  • Respond to incidents and escalation concerns where appropriate.
  • Resolve service issues quickly to minimise disruption and maintain customer confidence.

Training & Development

  • Ensure colleagues receive all required operational and compliance training.
  • Support coaching, development, and knowledge sharing.
  • Promote a culture of continuous improvement.

Absence Cover

  • Provide planned and unplanned cover when required.
  • Ensure seamless service continuity during periods of absence.

Revenue Generation

  • Complete one-off chargeable customer requests.
  • Support opportunities to generate additional revenue while enhancing customer satisfaction.

Governance & Compliance

  • Adhere to all Kingdom policies, procedures, and governance requirements.
  • Maintain accurate records and compliance documentation.
  • Support financial controls and authorised spending processes.
  • Produce management information and reports as required.

What We're Looking For

Essential Requirements

  • Minimum two years' experience in a similar management role within a service‑led environment.
  • Full UK Driving Licence.
  • Strong leadership and people management skills.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Ability to work independently and make sound decisions.
  • Strong organisational skills with excellent attention to detail.

Desirable Qualifications

  • IOSH Working Safely or equivalent Health & Safety qualification.
  • First Aid certification.
  • Manual Handling training.
  • COSHH Awareness training.
