Job Description CNC Turner
We are looking for a skilled CNC Turner to join a Motorsport and Formula 1 manufacturing business. The ideal candidate will have experience in setting up, operating, and programming CNC lathes to produce precision components. This role requires a keen eye for detail, strong technical skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced production environment.
Key Responsibilities:
CNC Lathe Operation:
Set up and operate CNC lathes to produce parts according to engineering drawings and specifications.
Load raw materials into the machine and monitor the machining process.
Adjust machine settings to optimize performance and ensure high-quality output.
Programming and Setup:
Create and modify CNC programs
Perform machine setup including tooling, workholding, and fixturing.
Conduct first article inspections to ensure parts meet quality standards and specifications.
Quality Control:
Inspect finished parts using precision measuring instruments such as micrometers, calipers, and gauges.
Maintain accurate records of production and inspection data.
Identify and troubleshoot machining issues to maintain product quality and consistency.
Maintenance and Safety:
Perform routine maintenance on CNC lathes to ensure optimal performance and longevity.
Follow all safety protocols and maintain a clean and organized work area.
Report any equipment malfunctions or safety concerns to the Production Manager.
Qualifications:
Education:
High school diploma or equivalent.
Technical certification or associate degree in CNC machining or a related field preferred.
Experience:
Minimum of 2-5 years of experience operating CNC lathes.
Experience with CNC programming and setup.
Familiarity with various materials, including metals and plastics.
Skills:
Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical drawings and blueprints.
Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Good communication skills and a positive attitude.
