Maintenance Engineer

As a Maintenance Engineer in Derby, you will join a specialist manufacturing business, splitting your time between workshop tasks and customer sites across the UK. Your focus is assembling, calibrating, and repairing sealing equipment, plus resolving technical faults on innovative packaging machinery. This full-time role pays £34,000 annually and covers all travel costs. You will support clients directly, applying your hands-on problem-solving skills to build and maintain complex systems. The Role

As a Sealer Support Technician, you'll be responsible for supporting customers, assembling and maintaining sealing equipment, carrying out calibrations and repairs, and assisting with the continuous improvement of machinery and processes.

Key Responsibilities

• Build, assemble and test sealing machinery from technical drawings.
• Carry out equipment calibrations, servicing and repairs both in-house and at customer sites.
• Manage spare parts stock levels and complete regular stock checks.
• Support customers with technical enquiries via phone and email.
• Assist with the development and improvement of packaging machinery and production equipment.

About You

• We're looking for a practical and organised engineer with strong technical knowledge and excellent problem-solving abilities.
• Apprenticeship-trained engineer or qualified to HNC/HND level in a relevant discipline.
• Knowledge of mechanical, electrical, pneumatic and PLC systems.
• Ability to read and work from technical drawings.
• Strong communication skills with a customer-focused approach.
• Competent using Microsoft Office and maintaining technical records.
