Job Description Mediq UK are a supplier of healthcare consumables, healthcare equipment, cleaning, and hygiene products, as well as healthcare devices to hospitals, care homes, and other facilities serving the healthcare sector in the UK.
Mediq UK have recently announced our exciting new expansion plans with the opening of a brand new 280,000ft sq ft facility in Castle Donington and we are now looking for a Distribution Centre Manager to oversee operations.
This role is critical in leading operational processes for Warehouse operations ensuring the effective flow of goods into, through and out of the warehouse to the point of delivery. You will maintain focus on excellent customer service and lean principles to ensure Mediq remains an efficient, low cost operator.
Responsibilities:
Act as the Accountable Person on site for all aspects of Environmental, Health and Safety, Legal and Regulatory Compliance..
Planning workloads to ensure that goods are received, processed, stored, and delivered in accordance with Company stipulated KPI’s.
Create and deliver Continuous Improvement Plans with people and processes to drive and increase operational excellence across the Warehouse.
Ensuring company procedures, systems and practices are adhered to.
Owning the delivery and associated change process of any new business or existing customers changes, through effective communication to all affected Warehouse staff, ensuring that any outcomes
Motivate team to perform to the required productivity levels through effective communication, coaching, encouragement, and team building measures.
Accurate and timely activity reporting through operating, Warehouse Management System, SAGE, Microsoft Office, and IT Systems.
Use all available data to analyse and interpret trends, indicators, risks, and opportunities and then recommend appropriate action to drive operational excellence.
Build and develop stakeholder relationships across all disciplines and at every level in the business to ensure that service delivery, operational excellence and effective cost management are balanced equally.
Collaborate with and support peer group to share best practice, calibrate capability and performance across all shifts and acquire skills and knowledge to enable an interchange across sites, departments, and disciplines.
Drive a customer first culture, using innovative ways to meet customer needs, converting business strategy into practical day to day activities.
Instill a customer service ethic throughout the site and ensure that queries are dealt with in a timely and efficient manner.
Utilise customer satisfaction data to drive site behaviour, acting swiftly to address regional issues within agreed controls.
Accountable for Profit and Loss for the operational site
Develop annual warehouse budgets for discussion with senior management.
Ensure that warehouse and operational costs are maintained within budget
What are we looking for?
You will be an experienced leader who has a demonstrable track record of managing multiple stakeholders, complex supply chains and end to end project management and delivery.
It would be great if you have:
Possess strong oral and written communication and interpersonal skills
Computer Literate. Numerate. High degree of accuracy.
Strong IT, Data and Critical Analysis skills
Structured and organised approach to their own personal time management
Full Leadership accountability for a function or operation with a clear line of sight to the strategic leadership population of the organisation.
Experience of working at an autonomous decision-making level in a busy warehouse environment, in a 24-hour operation.
