Financial Controller

A privately owned B2B that has demonstrated a strong dual-engine growth strategy, balancing robust organic expansion, with plentiful strategic acquisitions has engaged Gifford and Partners to help them appoint a key role of Financial Controller who will report into the CFO. Being a highly profitable business, backed by a resilient balance sheet and with substantial cash reserves, this would be a great position to target and ambitious Management Accountant, Finance Manager, or current Financial Controller that can lead a team, improve process and efficiency, whilst adding further value to the business. Other key responsibilities will include and not be limited to;
Production of the monthly management accounts both UK and overseas.
Production of annual accounts including completion of audit files and leading the audit.
Oversee annual year end stock takes.
Completion of tender questionnaires re financials (PSL, Public Sector).
Complete quarterly VAT returns across the Group.
Complete all HMRC requirements and reporting
Monthly payroll reconciliation.
Monthly supplier payment runs.
Additional ad hoc reporting.
Management and training of a small accounting team (up to 8) with some being split between different locations.
Stakeholder management amongst operations and finance including senior leadership teams and the board.
What we are targeting:
Ideally this role is targeting either a qualified ACCA/ACMA or qualified by experience individual, who has had previous management exposure. You must be technically strong able to drive not only the production of the accounts but also deliver a high-level review for the board whilst adding value. There will be projects outside of the above supporting future tenders, contract review as well as partnering operations in the day to day delivery and growth of the company.
