Location: Cardiff
Start Date: October 2026
Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30am – 3:30pm
Pay: £92.63 per day
The Role
As a KS1 Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with the class teacher and wider school team to provide high-quality support to pupils throughout the school day.
You will work with children both within the classroom and in small-group or individual activities, helping them develop their academic, social, emotional, and personal skills.

You will help create a safe, inclusive, and engaging classroom environment where every child feels supported, valued, and encouraged to succeed.
Key Responsibilities
Support the class teacher in delivering engaging and age-appropriate learning activities.
Work with individual pupils and small groups to reinforce and extend learning.
Support children across the KS1 curriculum, including English and Maths.
Help pupils develop their reading, writing, phonics, and numeracy skills.
Encourage positive behaviour and support effective classroom routines.
Promote children's confidence, independence, and social development.
Provide consistent encouragement and positive reinforcement.
Prepare and organise classroom resources and learning materials.
Observe and monitor pupil progress, sharing relevant feedback with the class teacher.
Build positive and supportive relationships with pupils and school staff.
Assist with classroom organisation and day-to-day learning activities.
Contribute to a positive, welcoming, and inclusive learning environment.
About You
We are looking for someone who is:
Experienced in working with children, ideally within a primary school environment.
Familiar with the needs and development of children in KS1.
Patient, nurturing, enthusiastic, and committed to helping children succeed.
Confident supporting pupils across the primary curriculum.
Comfortable working with individuals and small groups.
Calm, adaptable, and able to respond positively to different needs and situations.
A strong team player with excellent communication skills.
