Project Architect

Rate: £600-£644 per day (Inside IR35)

Location: Huntington / Hybrid

Duration: 6 months, rolling

Clearance: BPSS

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Project Architect to lead the technical architecture and design phase of a major project. You will work closely with key stakeholders and technical teams to translate requirements into a robust, scalable, and secure target architecture.

The successful candidate will provide technical leadership throughout the design process, produce high-quality architecture documentation, and ensure solutions are aligned with technical standards and project objectives.

Key Responsibilities

Lead technical architecture and design workshops with stakeholders to validate and finalise requirements emerging from the discovery phase.

Define and finalise the target architecture, system landscape, and integration approach.

Develop and deliver comprehensive High-Level Design (HLD) documentation covering:

Application architecture

Infrastructure

Security

Networking

Integrations

Data flows

Assess current-state architecture and identify gaps, dependencies, risks, and migration considerations.

Define and incorporate non-functional requirements (NFRs) including availability, scalability, performance, security, and disaster recovery.

Collaborate with infrastructure, application, security, and integration teams to ensure architecture decisions align with technical standards and best practice.

Review and validate solution designs against established technical architecture guidelines.

Provide technical leadership, architecture recommendations, and effort estimates to support project planning and implementation.

Present HLD documentation to stakeholders, address feedback, and secure architecture sign-off.

Support the transition from design into build and implementation, ensuring architecture requirements are clearly communicated to delivery teams.
