FC Engineering Recruitment is working with an established engineering and manufacturing business in Sandy, Bedfordshire , who are looking to recruit a talented Mechanical Design Engineer to join their growing engineering team.

This is an excellent opportunity for an engineer with experience designing special purpose machinery and bespoke mechanical equipment.

The Role As a Mechanical Design Engineer, you will be responsible for designing and developing innovative machinery and mechanical solutions from initial concept through to manufacture and installation.

Your responsibilities will include:

Designing special purpose machinery and bespoke mechanical equipment

Producing detailed 3D models and engineering drawings using SolidWorks

Taking projects from concept through to detailed design and manufacture

Producing assemblies, component drawings and Bills of Materials

Working closely with manufacturing, project and production teams

Supporting the development and improvement of existing machinery and equipment

Ensuring designs meet relevant engineering and safety requirements

The Candidate The successful candidate is likely to have:

Experience as a Mechanical Design Engineer , Design Engineer or similar

Strong experience using SolidWorks

Experience designing special purpose machinery, automated equipment or bespoke machinery

A good understanding of mechanical engineering principles and manufacturing processes

Experience producing detailed engineering drawings and BOMs

Strong problem-solving and communication skills

The Package Salary: £35,000 £45,000 , depending on experience

Permanent, full-time position
