We'd love to hear from you!About the roleA Software Engineering Manager works at a Product Team level, managing multiple squads within the team. Their time is primarily spent on management and both the day to day running and future planning of their team, ensuring that it is operating at its maximum capability. They are typically a manager of other managers.They will own and be responsible for delivering specific goals within a Product Team.They are also responsible, in conjunction with the Architecture team and Principal Software Engineerd, for setting the overall technical direction of their product team. They are accountable for the volume, quality & timeliness of work produced by their team throughout the development life cycle.A Senior Software Engineering Manager is an expert influencer, adept at building a technical consensus and achieving the best technology outcomes for their team.What you will be doing:Sets direction for all members of the team to deliver solutions to the businessEnsure the team works in an optimal way to deliver the outcomes of the teamAct as mentor and coach to staffEnsure the team has the right balance and experience of team membersWork closely with the other senior members of the Platform & Product Teams, specifically engineering and Senior engineering management.Encourages and facilitates the documentation of code and processes developed, specifically around the best practices for Agentic AI solutions.Cultivate strong relationships with colleagues, business users and other technical teamsSet and review quarterly objectives/goals for team membersReview and discuss solution designs by team members, validating and seeking approvals' from the relevant technical authorities.Hires new team members and ensure they are appropriately on-boardedMotivating existing staff, aim to retain top talent wherever possibleEscalation of potential resource or infrastructure requirements or dependencies to team headSchedule and host regular 1:1 meetings with team membersAbout you:Delivers team objectives on time, to quality and often beyond expectation.Drives continuous improvement throughout the development life cycle and is always looking at opportunities to improve our processes, utilising Agentic AI solutions and budling foundational services.Focuses on achieving business results for others, with a focus on maximising the success of their teamNurtures high performing culture within their teamAble to introduce new skills to their team through personal experience, external networks, or hiring top talentA highly respected point of reference for others in the department with highly valuable, relevant skills, knowledge and wisdomActively seeks out and shares new knowledge, facilitates a culture of collaboration within their team and between teamsBusiness communication is of highest written and verbal standards and consistently impresses clients and colleagues across the businessLeads efficient and inclusive discussions and knows when to conclude decisivelySkilled at managing inter-team conflicts for a positive outcomeGives clear direction. This role is permanent, full time, 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday.
