Job Description

Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer (Backshift)

Our Client

The business is an award winning whole and prepared produce for major supermarkets and food processors throughout the UK.

You would be joining a modern, heavily automated site with Production lines not 10 years' old. A large focus of this business is on increasing throughput and staying ahead of the curve regarding the processing technology they commission, with engineering playing a huge role in that.

The Role

Monday - Friday, 16:30 - 00:30

33 Days' Holiday

Overtime paid at 1.25x

The business requires an experienced engineer who can slot onto shift and hit the ground running. As expected a large part of this brief will be based around responding to electrical and mechanical breakdowns swiftly, carrying out scheduled maintenance, and ensuring smooth running of the plant.

The other part to this role is to identify improvement opportunities and lead projects to deliver those improvements, and log & interrogate data effectively, to be used to improve PPM's and the focus of the department as a whole.

The Department and Site

You will be joining an engineering team required to maintain a very modern food processing plant. Large sections of the line are automated with robotic end of line packaging.

Engineering stores is well managed and comprehensive; Low Care & High Care tools are provided due to the nature of the business as well a robust and well thought out LOTO procedure.

The engineering department itself is well driven and motivated, with a focus on improving the lines and output with the opportunity to be heavily involved in project and commissioning work.

You

The person who will be successful in this role would be a fault-finding logic-based engineer, ideally who enjoys being the person who can quickly identify an issue and get Production running again.

You will need to be time served apprenticeship / level 3 NVQ as a minimum due to the complexity of the process and machinery.

Experience in an FMCG environment would be preferable, however any industry where quick response times and a Production based mindset will fit well.

Any use or understanding of RCA methodology would be a huge advantage
