Youll be responsible for developing backend services that connect customer-facing applications with warehouse, ERP, finance and wider operational platforms, supporting the accurate and efficient movement of millions of data points every day.If you enjoy working on complex integrations, developing robust backend services and solving technical challenges, this could be an excellent opportunity to take you forward.ResponsibilitiesDesign, develop and maintain backend integrations between digital platforms and core business systems, including warehouse, ERP and finance solutions.Build scalable middleware to support order processing, inventory synchronisation and real-time data exchange.Create and maintain REST APIs and event-driven integrations across multiple systems.Implement queue-based processing to support high-volume asynchronous workloads.Improve system resilience through retry mechanisms, circuit breakers and fault-tolerant design.Work closely with engineers, product teams and operational stakeholders to deliver high-quality technical solutions.Contribute to engineering standards and best practice through code reviews, mentoring and knowledge sharing.Develop modern, cloud-ready services using clean, maintainable and scalable architecture.Monitor system performance and identify opportunities to improve reliability, scalability and efficiency.Essentials4+ years commercial experience in backend software development using a strongly typed programming language.Experience integrating business-critical systems with ERP, warehouse management or finance platforms.Strong SQL skills, including database design and performance optimisation.Good understanding of software architecture principles, including SOLID, Clean Architecture and Domain-Driven Design.Experience with modern development practices including CI/CD, automated testing and Git.Hands-on experience with Docker and containerised applications.Experience working with message queues and event-driven architectures.Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.DesirablesExperience working with AWS or another cloud platform.Knowledge of Kubernetes or container orchestration.Exposure to GraphQL.Experience using AI-assisted development tools.Understanding of secure software development and data protection best practices.Previous experience working within high-transaction, high-availability or fast-paced environments.JBRP1_UKTJ
