Year 2 Teaching Assistant
Location: Washwood Heath, Birmingham B8
Daily Pay Rate: £(Apply online only)
Days: Monday to Friday (Term Time Only)
Start Date: September 2026
Contract: Full-time, long-term temporary

Long Term Futures is looking for an enthusiastic Year 2 Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming primary school in the Washwood Heath area of Birmingham.

Starting at the end of September, this is a consistent, full-time position for the remainder of the academic year. You'll join a busy KS1 team, supporting children with different starting points and helping pupils develop confidence in reading, writing and maths.

Responsibilities:

Supporting the class teacher with daily Year 2 learning
Delivering targeted phonics, reading and maths interventions
Working with individuals and small groups who need additional support
Helping pupils stay focused and engaged during lessons
Supporting positive behaviour and classroom routines
Encouraging independence, confidence and good communicationWhat We're Looking For:

A Level 3 qualification in Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools.
Previous experience supporting children in KS1
Confidence with phonics and early reading
Experience working with pupils with varied learning needs and abilities
A proactive approach
