Job Description

We are looking for an experienced Contracts Manager to oversee the successful delivery of Civils & Highways projects, managing site teams, subcontractors, clients and commercial performance from pre-construction through to completion.

Immediate start available

Office based in Rochdale (hybrid)

Salary starting from 75,000 per annum (negotiable)

5,000 car allowance

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage multiple Civils and Groundworks projects from start to finish.
  • Lead and support Site Managers and project teams.
  • Ensure projects are delivered safely, on programme, to budget and to the required quality standards.
  • Maintain strong relationships with clients, subcontractors and key stakeholders.
  • Monitor project programmes, costs, performance and contractual obligations.
  • Conduct regular site visits and ensure compliance with H&S and company procedures.
  • Identify and manage project risks, issues and opportunities.
  • Support pre-construction, tendering and project planning activities.
  • Manage subcontractors and supply chain partners effectively.
  • Provide regular project updates and reports to senior management.
  • Drive continuous improvement across project delivery.

Person Specification

  • Proven experience as a Contracts Manager within Civils/Groundworks/Highways
  • Strong technical and commercial understanding.
  • Experience managing multiple projects and site teams.
  • Strong leadership, communication and client management skills.
  • Good knowledge of H&S, contractual requirements and project delivery.
  • Highly organised, proactive and commercially aware.
  • IT proficient, including Microsoft Office and Project or similar.
