Job Description

Job Title: Data Architect - Digital Manufacturing (PLM / MES)

Location: Dartford, Kent (Hybrid: 3 Days Onsite / 2 Days Remote)

Engagement Type: Initial 3-Month Contract (Long-term vision through 2028)

About the Role

We are seeking a senior Data Architect with specialized experience in digital manufacturing, PLM, and MES integration to lead the data strategy for a major engineering program. In this role, you will define enterprise data models, data governance, and architectural roadmaps to connect product design directly with shop-floor operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and execute enterprise data architecture strategies bridging engineering and manufacturing environments.
  • Define data models and integration pipelines connecting PLM and MES platforms.
  • Establish data governance frameworks to ensure data harmonization across complex manufacturing workflows.
  • Work alongside cross-functional engineering, IT, and operational teams to deliver a unified digital thread.

Required Experience

  • Proven track record as a Data Architect within manufacturing, automotive, aerospace, or heavy engineering environments.
  • Hands-on experience with PLM (e.g., Teamcenter, Windchill, Enovia, SAP PLM) and MES (e.g., Opcenter, SAP ME/MII, Plex, Aveva).
  • Deep understanding of Digital Manufacturing principles (Industry 4.0, Digital Twin, Smart Factory).
  • Ability to work onsite 3 days per week in Dartford, Kent.
