Mechanical Engineer - Temp to PermLocation: KetteringPay: £28.00 per hourPermanent Salary: Circa £53,000 per annumHours: Full-time, rotating shift patternContract: 3-6 months temporary, with a genuine opportunity to become permanentAn excellent opportunity has now arisen for two experienced Mechanical Engineers to join our client's established engineering team within a fast-paced, high-speed production environment in Kettering.This is initially a 3-6 month temporary assignment, however there is a genuine opportunity for the right candidates to secure a permanent position, subject to performance and fit within the team.The permanent equivalent salary is circa £53,000 per annum.Shift Pattern:2 morning shifts - 6:00am to 2:30pm2 afternoon shifts - 2:00pm to 10:30pm2 night shifts - 10:00pm to 6:30amFollowed by 4 days offDuties of a Mechanical Engineer:Carrying out planned preventative maintenance across high-speed production equipmentResponding to breakdowns and working quickly to minimise production downtimeFault finding, diagnosing mechanical issues and carrying out repairsCompleting daily, weekly and monthly maintenance tasksWorking proactively to improve equipment reliability and line efficiencyPrioritising maintenance activity to maximise production outputSupporting other engineers and sharing technical knowledge across the teamCompleting effective shift handovers and communicating ongoing engineering issuesCarrying out fabrication and welding where requiredWorking safely and ensuring all Health & Safety procedures are followedWhat we would like from you:Previous experience working as a Mechanical Engineer, Maintenance Engineer or similarPrevious engineering experience within a high-speed production, manufacturing or FMCG environment is essentialA recognised Engineering qualificationStrong mechanical fault-finding and problem-solving skillsExperience working on production machinery and equipmentFabrication and welding skillsA proactive and hands-on approachAbility to work effectively as part of an engineering teamFlexibility to work the full rotating shift patternSome electrical knowledge would be advantageous, although this is a mechanically focused positionBenefits:£28.00 per hour3-6 month initial assignmentGenuine opportunity to secure a permanent positionPermanent equivalent salary of circa £53,000Established high-speed manufacturing environmentVaried, hands-on engineering role
