Join us as a Programme Manager at our Bristol or Boscombe Down sites, where you will have the opportunity to work with cutting-edge technology in partnership with some of the most brilliant minds.The RoleAs a Programme Manager in our UK Defence function you will be part of the Mission Rehearsal team where you will be fully responsible and accountable on the delivery of the Programme vision.Day to day, you will shape and structure the programme, which will include Integrated planning, Budget and Cost Control, Risk and Issue management, Stakeholder engagement, Commercial management and Quality management.Your responsibilities will include:Ensure resource capacity planning is in place, manage and co-ordinate dependencies to ensure issues are resolved early and ensure the programme benefits are identified and fully understoodWorking closely with the Portfolio Office to ensure programme controls are in place and accurate and timely performance information is availableProactively, identify and assess risks at programme level, plan and implement responses to those risks and respond to issues that affect the programmeEvaluate the performance of projects within the programme to understand the status of the RAG using performance reportingEngage, influence and collaborate with all stakeholders (internal, including Finance, Commercial, People, Enterprise Services, Portfolio Office, Technical & Supply Chain and external), ensuring on-going commitmentLead pre and post contract discussions to shape project scope and collaboratively work with the Commercial function to understand QinetiQ's contractual rights and obligationsEssential experience of the Programme Manager:  Recognised expert in job area typically – 10 years working within Project teams leading programmesApplies detailed/in-depth knowledge of programme management, understanding the full project lifecycleHas extensive experience of using project management tools such as Microsoft Project and SAPEssential qualifications for the Programme Manager:APM PMQ, PMI PgMP or AIPM CPPDWe value difference and we don’t have a fixed idea when it comes to background or education, provided you can show the required level of experience and willingness to learn then we would like to hear from you.This role is 37 hours per week based at our Bristol or Boscombe Down site with a minimum average site attendance of three days per week.

Please note that you must be able to attend Boscombe Down on a Tuesday and Bristol on a Wednesday.Boscombe DownMOD Boscombe Down is a unique operational site featuring the longest military runway in the UK.

Primarily focusing on providing testing, evaluation and support services for aviation and aerospace systems.

Renowned for its extensive flight-testing capabilities the site plays a vital role in the UK’s aviation defence contributing to the development, testing and airworthiness of military aircraft enhancing operational readiness and effectiveness.BristolThe QinetiQ facility in Bristol is part of the company’s broader operation focused on defence and technology innovation.
