Bookkeeper Job Type: Full-timeLocation: Reigate, SurreySalary: Up to £30,000 per annum
We are currently seeking a dedicated Bookkeeper to join our accountancy practice based in Reigate. This role offers the opportunity to work within a professional team, providing comprehensive bookkeeping services to a diverse client portfolio.
Day to day of the role:
Maintain accurate financial records and ledgers for clients.
Process financial transactions including sales and purchase invoices.
Perform bank reconciliations and reconcile financial discrepancies.
Prepare and submit VAT returns in compliance with HMRC regulations.
Assist with the preparation of monthly management accounts.
Manage payroll processing for clients, including PAYE, National Insurance, and pension contributions.
Liaise with clients to gather financial data, receipts, and other documentation.
Provide support during year-end processes and liaise with accountants for the preparation of annual accounts.
Utilise bookkeeping software efficiently, ensuring that all financial data is entered correctly and in a timely manner.
Offer financial administrative support as needed, including filing and managing client queries.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
Proven bookkeeping experience, preferably within an accountancy practice.
Strong understanding of bookkeeping principles and practices.
Proficiency in bookkeeping software and Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
Knowledge of VAT, payroll processing, and other financial regulations.
Excellent attention to detail and a high level of accuracy.
Strong organisational and time management skills.
Ability to handle multiple clients and adapt to varying business needs.
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
AAT qualification or equivalent is desirable but not essential.
