Associate Director - PT Engineering & Manufacturing

Overview

Responsibilities

  • Lead and inspire a multi-shift engineering team to deliver exceptional maintenance, reliability, and efficiency across all site equipment.
  • Develop and deliver the site’s engineering strategy, including CAPEX projects, asset renewal, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Drive operational excellence with robust planned, preventative, and reactive maintenance strategies to minimise downtime.
  • Champion a strong safety culture, ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations and standards.
  • Work collaboratively with production, quality, and other site teams to ensure engineering fully supports smooth manufacturing operations.
  • Manage budgets, negotiate with suppliers, and ensure cost-effective, high-quality engineering solutions.

Qualifications

  • Proven track record in engineering management within food manufacturing or FMCG.
  • Strong leadership skills with experience managing multi-shift teams and contractors.
  • Excellent knowledge of maintenance systems, Lean principles, and continuous improvement tools.
  • Confident managing budgets, delivering CAPEX projects, and influencing at senior level.
  • Electrical or mechanical engineering qualifications (NVQ Level 3 or above) and relevant H&S training (IOSH Managing Safely, PUWER, etc.).
