Engineer

We're looking for a Design Engineer – Civils to join our River Infrastructure team based in Bristol.

Location: Bristol

Hours: 40 hours per week - some flexibility on hours available if desired, just let us know when you speak to us.

You'll be working within Kier's 700 strong internal consultancy, Kier Design, supporting the delivery of Civil Infrastructure Engineering related services. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the delivery of complex services by providing safe and buildable solutions whilst achieving clients' goals. You'll be part of a growing team delivering infrastructure projects for prestigious clients such as the Environment Agency, Severn Trent, and Mining Remediation Authority.

What will you be responsible for?

As a Design Engineer – Civils, You'll Be Working Within The Kier Design Team, Supporting Them In Delivering Civil Infrastructure Engineering Services. Your Day To Day Will Include

• Reviewing and agreeing technical requirements of the client remit, ensuring it is fully understood
• Organising and leading the day-to-day workload of engineers and technical staff within the design team
• Ensuring compliance with applicable legal requirements and Company policies including CDM Regulations and the Kier Quality Management System
• Contributing to the financial and commercial management of projects such as progress monitoring and change control
• Delivering alternative solutions and value engineering to enhance Kier's competitive position

What are we looking for?

This role of Design Engineer – Civils is great for you if:

• You have experience in design delivery and feel comfortable using your own judgement when managing uncertainty and technical risk
• You're working towards becoming a Chartered or Incorporated member of a relevant professional institution (e.g., CEng MICE)
• You have relevant postgraduate experience in the design of hydraulic structures, river engineering, or similar
• You hold a Full driving licence
• You enjoy collaborating with others and building effective relationships across teams, clients and stakeholders
