Role overview

We are looking for an experienced Java Engineer to join one of our strategic programmes, where esynergy is delivering a major piece of work for a FinTech client.

You'll be working predominantly across backend systems, helping to buildand evolve large-scale, customer-facing applications using Java, Spring Boot and microservices.

For some positions within the programme, we are also looking for full-stack engineers with React.js experience. Backend engineering remains the primary focus.

Essential Skills/Experience: ??

5+ years' relevant commercial software engineering experience.

Strong experience with Java and Spring Boot.

Strong experience designing and developing microservices.

Experience building and evolving customer-facing applications.

Experience with SQL and/or NoSQL databases.

Strong technical background in backend development and distributed systems.

Experience working with large-scale applications, ideally supporting 10,000+ users.

Clear examples of technical, product or customer impact across previous projects.

Full-Stack Roles: ??

For full-stack opportunities within the programme: Strong experience across both backend and frontend development.

Commercial experience with React.js.

Strong Java/backend expertise remains the priority.

Nice to Have: ??

Experience with Kafka and event-driven architectures.

Cloud experience, particularly AWS.

Experience with Kubernetes and Docker.

CI/CD experience, particularly GitLab CI/CD.

Previous experience within FinTech, payments, banking or financial services.
