We're looking for a Technical Sales Engineer to develop relationships and provide cutting-tool solutions to customers across the aerospace and automotive sectors.

This is a genuinely consultative role. You'll be working closely with production and manufacturing teams to understand machining challenges, identify opportunities to improve productivity and recommend the right tooling solutions.

The Role

You'll become a technical expert on the company's cutting-tool range and work directly with customers to:

• Develop and grow relationships with aerospace and automotive manufacturers
• Identify new business opportunities and develop existing accounts
• Visit customers on-site to understand their machining and production requirements
• Work with production, manufacturing and engineering teams to identify tooling challenges
• Recommend technically appropriate cutting-tool solutions
• Carry out trials and support customers with tooling implementationDemonstrate how tooling solutions can improve productivity, tool life, cycle times and overall manufacturing efficiency
• Provide technical advice and troubleshooting support
• Prepare quotations and follow opportunities through to completion
• Work closely with internal technical and engineering teams
• Build long-term relationships rather than simply selling a product

Who We're Looking For

We're deliberately open-minded about your background.

You could be an experienced technical sales professional with a background selling:

• Cutting tools
• Machine tools
• Work-holding
• Tooling
• MRO products
• Engineering products or components

Alternatively, you could be a hands-on engineer looking to move into sales.

Perhaps you're currently working as a:

• CNC/Manufacturing Engineer
• Applications Engineer
• Production Engineer
• Manufacturing Engineer
• CNC Programmer
• Machinist with strong technical knowledge
• Process Engineer

If you understand machining, cutting processes, tooling and manufacturing environments, and you're confident dealing with engineers and production teams, we'll consider you.

You don't necessarily need previous sales experience — technical knowledge, commercial curiosity and the personality to build relationships are more important.

• Technically strong with a good understanding of machining/manufacturing
• Comfortable talking to engineers, production managers and senior manufacturing professionals
• Naturally curious and interested in solving technical problems
• Commercially minded and motivated by achieving results
• Confident working independently with customers
• Practical and hands-on in their approach
• A good communicator with strong relationship-building skills
• Happy travelling to customer sites
• Keen to develop their career within technical sales
