Job Description

Our Client is recruiting a Trainee/Apprentice Engineer/Apprentice in Princes Risborough to support the maintenance, repair and reliability of production machinery and site facilities.

This could suit someone attending college part time studying an electrical course or has now finished college and looking for an entry level electrical position.

Working closely with a lead engineer and initially assisting until trained, the successful candidate will complete planned maintenance, monitor equipment performance, diagnose faults and undertake remedial work. The role also includes workshops and training sessions where required.

Responsibilities:

* Assist with the maintenance and repair of production machinery while working alongside the lead engineer

* Complete scheduled preventive maintenance tasks and regular equipment inspections to the required standard

* Service production machinery and associated equipment

* Record completed maintenance procedures accurately in individual machine logs and keep reports clear, concise and up to date

* Monitor and measure machinery to identify potential failures, safety risks or deterioration in output, waste and quality

* Diagnose the causes of faults or declining performance and complete remedial work where possible

* Provide a clear handover to relevant colleagues and the manager when work cannot be completed, including the issue, cause and recommended solution

* Use equipment manuals and fault histories to develop preventive maintenance tasks, explaining their purpose to the relevant manager

* Complete corrective actions to return equipment to the required output, quality and waste standards

* Undertake standardised work audits, identify reasons for non-conformance and rectify issues

* Recommend and help implement improvements to machinery, processes and maintenance procedures

* Carry out risk assessments before maintenance work, implement the required controls and follow safe systems of work

* Ensure equipment is returned to operational teams in a fully safe condition

* Deliver colleague training where appropriate and provide signed training records to the relevant manager

* Assist with facilities-related tasks as required and contribute to continuous improvement through effective communication

* Follow all relevant quality, health, safety and environmental policies
