Are you a Software Engineer who is looking to join an internationally renowned company where you will be working on cutting-edge, industry-leading technology?
This is a rare opportunity where you will join a team of like-minded individuals that will mainly focus on our clients new solar inverter projects. This position entails optimising software for string photovoltaic inverters through the utilisation of advanced algorithms for power electronic controls.
Our client focuses on pioneering research and development of advanced technology for the Rail and Electric Vehicle industries across the globe. They are well established with roots that date back over 60 years and have around 8,000 employees In the UK alone.
In this position, you will collaborate with the internal hardware team to define, design, & debug applications, you will also design software for grid-tied inverters and debugging. A significant aspect of the role involves designing and evaluating prototypes and proof of concept control algorithms while adhering to relevant norms and standards.
The ideal candidate will be a high-performing professional who has a strong understanding of power electronic principles and control theory, a good understanding of three phase two level or multilevel DC-AC inverters and solar converters/inverters. Proficiency in programming languages such as C/C++, Python and MATLAB/PLECS for algorithm development and implementation.
The role:
* Execute pivotal protocols, signal processing, and numerical algorithms
* Conducting thorough testing of firmware software at unit and module levels
* Working on new solar inverter projects
We would like you to have:
* Proficiency in programming languages such as C/C++, Python and MATLAB/PLECS
* Good understanding of DC-AC inverter & solar converters/inverters
* PhD or Masters degree
* Technical expertise in microcontroller utilisation for power electronic applications
