Network Engineer

You will be a member of our TechOps Team, working in a challenging environment, supporting the business in day-to-day operations, as well as facilitating business changes. The Network team are responsible for designing and maintaining both the production environment and Corporate environment.
Responsibilities
Infrastructure
Research and identify the most appropriate options for the entire Trayport network infrastructure
Design the architecture of the required infrastructure solution
Manage the deployment, maintenance and upgrade paths of the network
Identify, deploy and maintain appropriate connectivity options for a geographically dispersed, growth based business
Maintain and test business continuity plans and systems
Contribute to the overall quality of service delivered to internal users and clients
Support the Application Support team in dealing with critical incidents in the Managed Service environment
Design
Contribute to the roadmap for the development and evolution of the infrastructure that is appropriate for the current needs as well as scalable for the future needs of the business
Continuous improvement
Contribute toward design improvements that allow for more efficient support of the environment, applications and clients
Actively contribute to increasing the availability of our services by providing iterative improvements to existing infrastructure solutions
The Person
Excellent knowledge of:
Managing and troubleshooting networks (Cisco CCNP desirable)
Dynamic routing protocols (BGP, OSPF, EIGRP, PIM)
Datacentre interconnect technologies (OTV, VXLAN)
WAN connectivity (MPLS, EPL, dark fibre, etc.)
Cisco datacenter switching/routing (Nexus), campus routing (ISR/ASR)
VPN Technologies and posture assessment
Designing and managing VMware vSphere environments
Palo Alto firewalls
Cisco ACI
Desirable knowledge of:
Multicast design and delivery within a fast paced exchange environment
Windows / Linux server platforms
Active Directory
Knowledge of any scripting language and/or previous experience of automation
Proven ability to collaboratively pursue issue resolution and push for long term and permanent solutions to on-going problems
Understanding of fundamental computer architecture, TCP/IP networking, server virtualisation, storage and operating system concepts
Knowledge of ITIL, willingness to pursue deeper study and expertise
