Finance Assistant

Gecko Travel Recruitment are excited to be working with the UK's leading specialist ski tour operator based in London who are seeking a Finance Assistant to join their team on a 6 month fixed term contract basis.
As Finance Assistant you will support the Finance Manager in daily operations by efficiently handling high volumes of transactional financial accounting tasks with a specific focus on reconciling purchase ledger and card transactions. Although this is an initial 6 month contract, there is the possibility it could turn permanent for the right person.
Previous experience in a similar finance/accounts role is essential to be considered for this role.
The role:
Supporting the accounts payable function, with particularly focus on our large volumes of overseas suppliers
Review and reconciliation of credit card transactions
Identifying suppliers with outstanding balances and ensuring prompt processing of payments within agreed terms
Supporting the accounts receivable function, via reconciling and accounting for client receipts
Investigating discrepancies between supplier records and our expected costs
You will have:
At least 1 years' experience in a similar finance/accounts role
Some knowledge of the accounts payable function
The ability to multitask
Strong IT skills
Knowledge of Xero is desirable but not essential
Additional information:
Salary £23-25,000 depending on experience
