Location: Redcar

Pay Rate: £16.13 per hour

Shifts: Mainly 12-hour day and night shifts

Contract: Temporary, ongoing work

The Role

Westray Recruitment is looking for dependable and flexible Shunter Drivers to support a busy, fast-paced operation in the Teesside area.

You will be responsible for safely moving and positioning vehicles and trailers around the site, ensuring operations continue smoothly and efficiently. As the site operates 24 hours a day, seven days a week, we are looking for candidates who can work a mixture of day shifts, night shifts and weekends.

This role offers excellent earning potential for candidates who are willing to remain flexible and take on additional shifts when available.

Key Responsibilities

Safely moving and positioning vehicles and trailers around the site

Carrying out vehicle checks before use

Following all site procedures and health and safety requirements

Communicating effectively with supervisors and other operational teams

Ensuring vehicles and trailers are positioned correctly and securely

Reporting any defects, damage or safety concerns immediately

Supporting the wider operation when required

Maintaining a professional and safety-conscious approach at all times

The Person

The successful candidate must:

Hold a full, clean UK driving licence

Be able to pass a drug and alcohol test

Be available for both day and night shifts

Be willing to work weekends

Be flexible and available across a seven-day operation

Be comfortable working mainly 12-hour shifts

Have a reliable, punctual and responsible attitude

Be able to follow instructions and work safely in a busy environment

Be comfortable working independently and as part of a team

Previous shunting or commercial driving experience would be advantageous, but candidates with the right attitude, flexibility and driving ability are encouraged to apply.
