Job Description

ToolmakerLocation: WorcesterContract: Permanent, full-timeWorking arrangement: On-siteThe roleWe are looking for an experienced Toolmaker to join a busy engineering team in Worcester.You'll be working on the manufacture, fitting, assembly and repair of specialist tooling used in a high-precision manufacturing environment.The role is hands-on and varied. You'll be making and modifying tooling, putting components together, carrying out checks and helping to fix any problems that come up during testing or production.This would suit someone who enjoys practical engineering work, is comfortable working to tight measurements and can look at a problem and work out how to fix it.What you'll be doingMaking and assembling different types of toolingWorking from engineering drawings and modelsUsing normal toolroom equipment and machineryFitting and adjusting precision componentsCarrying out bench work, polishing, grinding and drillingChecking parts and finished tools are made correctlyFinding and fixing problems with toolingHelping with testing and setting up new toolsRepairing and making changes to existing toolingWorking with other engineering teams when changes are neededFeeding back any issues or improvementsKeeping the work area safe, tidy and organisedAbout youYou'll ideally have:Good experience working as a Toolmaker or similarA background in engineering, toolmaking or precision manufacturingStrong hands-on fitting and assembly skillsThe ability to read engineering drawingsExperience working with tight tolerancesExperience making, repairing or modifying toolingA basic understanding of machining and toolroom processesExperience using measuring equipmentA practical approach to solving problemsGood attention to detail and qualityThe ability to work both on your own and with a teamExperience working with moulds, dies, press tools or other specialist tooling would be useful, but isn't essential.What's on offer£45,000-£55,000 depending on experiencePermanent positionInteresting and varied engineering workA hands-on role with plenty of responsibilityWork on new and existing toolingOpportunity to develop your skills and experienceOn-site role based in WorcesterJBRP1_UKTJ
