CAD Technician - Fire Systems

Job Details

Location: Aldermaston

Salary: up to £54,000 dependant on experience

Hours: 07:45 – 16:30 – 9 day fortnight (every 2nd Friday off, PAID!)

Job Purpose

To design, draft and estimate proposals for Fire Detection and Alarm Systems projects and small works for the contract.

What You’ll Do

  • Design Fire Detection and Alarm systems
  • Estimate and provide proposals for client consideration
  • Draft Fire Detection and Alarm system drawings, both extensions and new systems
  • Coordinate with on‑site commercial/technical/operational management to comply with company and site procedures
  • Attend client contract meetings as required
  • Prepare and present client contract reports
  • Prepare project files, including all LPCB/BRE LPS1014 documentation from design certification to verification
  • Maintain the technical library, covering product and legislative requirements
  • Prepare monthly reports for the General Manager detailing project activities
  • Participate in the monthly contract meeting

Qualifications and Experience

  • Extensive experience in designing and modifying Fire Detection and Alarm systems
  • City & Guilds in Electrical Engineering or equivalent
  • Experience with conventional and analogue addressable Fire Detection and Alarm system design
  • Knowledge of health & safety, environmental, technical and statutory requirements including CDM regulations, with a commitment to compliance
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD
  • Full clean driving licence
