Job DescriptionClinical Director | Locally Owned Small Animal Surgery Up to £80,000 + Extensive Benefits Established Team of Vets and RVNs Are you a Surgeon looking for a step up?Do you want to work in a highly rated practice with a strong team underneath you?We are working with a beautiful and modern Small Animal Practice in Birmingham to place a new Clinical Director within their Senior Leadership Team. A full candidate pack is available on request. The Clinic: The practice itself is a state-of-the-art general surgery covering a variety of disciplines. We boast multiple consult rooms and operating theatres as well as all the usual bells and whistles you would expect including ultrasound, dental X-Rays and a large in house lab. We also have facilities for echocardiography and chemotherapy as well as in house behaviourists. The team consists of a Practice manager and 5 on the reception team, 4 RVNs with a Head Nurse currently completing their onboarding and 3 Veterinary Surgeons. The practice owner will always have a 'boots on the ground' approach and loves supporting her team. The Job: The current Practice Owner is looking to have the new Clinical Director take over more of the management of the practice. You would work closely alongside the Practice Manager to establish and meet KPIs and commercial targets and be the key player in driving clinical standards. In order to keep providing high quality care for years to come, we need to maintain strong profit levels so a good understanding of P&L is needed but you will be supported by the Practice Manager in this regard. As well as operational requirements, the CD will need to be a confident clinical Vet. We mainly see Small Animals and would like to offer you the ability to work on your own case load within all areas of first opinion work. If you are particularly interested in a particular doctrine, albeit feline medicine, diagnostics or orthopaedic surgery etc, we are happy to let the CD's case load be more biased. You will be needed to help train and develop junior vets so that the next generation of surgeons can be as confident as yourself. The Candidate: As the Clinical Director, you will be a confident GP vet with the skills to not only perform consults and surgeries, but also train and develop more junior and graduate vets into becoming clinical experts.
