Learning Support Assistant | Thurrock | ASAP

Are you an experienced Learning Support Assistant with previous experience supporting pupils with SEND in a primary school?

We are working with a Good-rated primary school in Thurrock seeking a dedicated Learning Support Assistant to join their supportive and inclusive team. This is an excellent opportunity for a passionate Learning Support Assistant to work across Nursery to Year 6 within a welcoming two-form entry school.

The school has a strong commitment to providing a positive learning experience for every child, with a dedicated 10-place Autism Resource Centre and specialist support for pupils with additional needs. As a Learning Support Assistant, you will work alongside class teachers and the wider SEND team to provide tailored support and help pupils make progress academically, socially and emotionally.

The role of Learning Support Assistant will involve:

Providing 1:1 and small-group support to pupils with SEND

Supporting pupils with autism and a range of additional needs

Working alongside teachers to adapt learning and encourage engagement

Promoting positive behaviour, confidence and independence

Creating a safe, inclusive and nurturing learning environment

Working closely with the SENCo, teachers and wider support staff

The successful Learning Support Assistant will have:

Previous SEND experience within a primary school essential

Experience supporting children with autism would be highly desirable

A nurturing, patient and proactive approach

Excellent communication and teamwork skills

A genuine passion for supporting children with additional needs

A strong commitment to safeguarding and pupil wellbeing
