Teaching Assistant / SEN Teaching Assistant – North Somerset

Multiple Locations | Full-Time, Part-Time & Flexible Opportunities | Immediate & Long-Term Roles

Are you an experienced Teaching Assistant or SEN Teaching Assistant looking for your next opportunity in North Somerset or the surrounding areas?

Protocol Education is currently recruiting passionate and dedicated TA and SEN TA professionals to support a range of primary, secondary and specialist schools across Weston-super-Mare, Clevedon, Portishead, Nailsea and Backwell.

We are looking for high-quality candidates who are passionate about education and enjoy supporting children and young people to reach their full potential.

Locations Available

We have opportunities across:

Weston-super-Mare – BS22, BS23 & BS24

Clevedon – BS21

Portishead – BS20

Nailsea & Backwell – BS48

About the Roles

As a Teaching Assistant or SEN Teaching Assistant, you could be supporting pupils in the classroom, working 1:1 or in small groups, and helping children access learning and develop their confidence and independence.

Depending on the setting, your responsibilities may include:

Providing 1:1 and small-group support.

Supporting pupils with SEND, Autism, ADHD and additional needs.

Assisting teachers with classroom activities and learning.

Supporting pupils with their emotional wellbeing and behaviour.

Adapting activities and resources to meet individual needs.

Encouraging communication, confidence and independence.

Building positive and trusting relationships with pupils.

Working closely with teachers, SENCOs and the wider school team.

Creating a safe, inclusive and supportive learning environment.

‍ What We're Looking For

We would love to hear from candidates who:

Have at least 6 months of UK experience working as a Teaching Assistant or in a relevant education/support role.

Have experience supporting children or young people.

Have SEND experience for SEN TA opportunities.

Are caring, patient, resilient and adaptable.

Have strong communication and relationship-building skills.

Are passionate about supporting pupils' learning and development.

Can work effectively as part of a school team.

Are available for full-time work, although part-time and flexible availability will also be considered.
