Simulation Software Engineer - Fully remote

We’re working with a pioneering motorsport technology provider that's transforming how top-tier race teams unlock vehicle performance. Their advanced simulation tools are used at the highest levels of the sport — including Formula E, IndyCar, WEC, and Formula 1. We are seeking a Simulation Software Engineer to help design, develop and optimise high-performance their software used in complex motorsport engineering environments.

This role would suit a motivated software engineer with a background in C++ development, high-performance computing (HPC), simulation, real-time systems, gaming technology, control systems, or scientific software. You will play a key role in shaping software architecture, improving performance and reliability, and driving engineering best practice across the development lifecycle.

What You'll Be Doing

Architecting and developing scalable simulation software platforms

Enhancing software performance, modularity, testability and maintainability

Contributing to code reviews, technical discussions and software design decisions

Supporting and improving build systems, development pipelines and CI/CD processes

Developing testing, benchmarking and deployment tooling for HPC environments

Working with modern software development practices and emerging AI-assisted development tools

Mentoring junior engineers and promoting engineering best practiceTechnical Requirements

Applicants should have experience with most of the following:

Commercial software development experience in C++

Strong understanding of software design principles and architecture

Source control, code review and collaborative development workflows

Build systems, automated testing and CI/CD pipelines

Performance optimisation and debugging

Interest in distributed systems, HPC clusters and hardware-level optimisation

Experience with C, Rust, Zig, containerisation, cross-platform deployment or low-level performance tuning would be advantageous.Desirable Backgrounds

salary range £55,000 - £85,000 dependent on experience level (appointment can be made from Software Engineer up to Lead Software Engineer level)

Fully remote working and to hours that suit you (you really can work anywhere – some of them team base themselves from ski resorts, others from the beach)
