Job Description

Software Engineer (Full Stack, Java Focus) - Leeds (Hybrid) - £600 Inside IR35

Please note: Candidates will be required to be able to commute to Leeds at least 2/3 days per week.

La Fosse are recruiting for a Software Engineer to help design, build and deliver scalable software products. You'll work across the full stack with a strong focus on backend development, contributing to technical decisions and driving engineering excellence.

Key Responsibilities

Build and maintain backend services, APIs and full-stack applications.
Contribute to architecture and technical design decisions.
Leverage AI-assisted development tools and modern engineering practices.
Champion code quality through testing, code reviews and best practices.
Collaborate with Product, Design and QA teams to deliver customer-focused solutions.
Support and mentor engineers through knowledge sharing and technical guidance.
Drive continuous improvement across engineering processes and tooling.
Strong backend development experience, ideally with Java.
Full-stack development experience and understanding of end-to-end systems.
Proven ability to influence technical decisions and engineering standards.
Experience with automated testing and delivering maintainable software.
Strong communication, collaboration and problem-solving skills.
