Position Details

Job Title: Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer

Location: Folkestone, Kent

Contract Length: Initially 9 months

Start Date: ASAP

Pay Rate: £24.87 per hour (£54,000 annual equivalent)

Hours: 42 hours per week

Monday to Thursday: 8:00am to 5:00pm

Friday: 8:00am to 4:00pm

30-minute lunch break

About the Role

Based at a busy manufacturing site, you will be responsible for maintaining and repairing production and plant equipment, helping to drive efficiency through continuous improvement initiatives and automation developments.

Working as part of a small engineering team, you'll carry out both planned and reactive maintenance activities, ensure plant equipment operates within specification, and support production by prioritising engineering tasks effectively while maintaining high Health & Safety and Quality standards.

What We're Looking For

Extensive experience working with processing and packaging machinery

Mechanical qualification (City & Guilds, NVQ Level 3 or equivalent)

Electrical qualification (City & Guilds, NVQ Level 3 or equivalent)

Experience troubleshooting and resolving PLC and robotic equipment issues

Strong background in reactive, planned, preventative and predictive maintenance

Knowledge of continuous improvement and SMED projects

Understanding of COSHH regulations

Lean Six Sigma knowledge or qualifications would be advantageous
