Reed is seeking a dedicated and highly motivated SENCO to join one of our partnering schools based near Birmingham City Centre. With enthusiastic learners and a commitment to providing the best education, we are looking for a SENDCO with a proven track record for raising standards. As part of the middle leadership team, you will play a crucial role in raising standards and committing to providing excellence for all children.
Day to Day of the role:
Oversee the day-to-day operation of the school’s SEND policy.
Coordinate provision for children with special educational needs.
Liaise with teachers, parents, and external professionals to ensure a collaborative approach to inclusive education.
Advise on the graduated approach to providing SEND support.
Ensure records of all children with SEND are up to date and accurate.
Contribute to the professional development of staff to improve outcomes for children with SEND.
Be an active member of the middle leadership team, contributing to the strategic development of the school.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
Fully qualified teacher status.
Experience as a SENDCO or holds the National Award for SENDCO.
Experience working with pupils with a range of special educational needs.
Excellent understanding of the SEND Code of Practice.
Calm and resolution-focused approach.
Ability to motivate, support, and inspire learners, staff, and the wider community.
Enhanced DBS on the update service (or be willing to obtain one).
