Experis are working with a client in the Education Sector based in Watford who are looking to recruit an experienced Network & Systems Engineer into their established IT team.

This is a broad, hands‑on Network Engineer role supporting a \"Cisco Platform\" within a \"Microsoft Landscape\", with a particular emphasis on strong Cisco networking experience.

This is a \"Network Engineer Role\" first and foremost! MS Infrastructure Engineer second!

The successful candidate will support a business‑critical infrastructure environment and work across a mixture of on‑premise and cloud technologies.

Key responsibilities:

• Support and maintain Cisco network infrastructure


• Provide 3rd line support across server and network environments


• LAN/WAN, Wi‑Fi technologies, IP telephony systems, firewalls, and systems architecture.


• Hyper‑V, Microsoft 365 / Azure, backup Technologies, Active Directory,


• Support Windows Server and Active Directory technologies


• Support Azure and Microsoft 365 environments


• Manage and troubleshoot firewalls and wider network security technologies


• Support backup, recovery and core infrastructure services


• Investigate incidents and complete root‑cause analysis


• Assist with infrastructure upgrades, projects and continuous improvement activity


• Work closely with wider IT teams and third‑party suppliers where required.

What we're looking for:

• Around 5+ years' recent Network / Infrastructure Engineering experience


• Strong hands‑on Cisco networking knowledge, ideally at approximately CCNP level


• Strong Windows Server and Active Directory experience


• Good firewall knowledge


• Experience working with Azure


• Broad enterprise infrastructure experience


• Strong troubleshooting and problem‑solving skills


• Comfortable remaining technically hands‑on


• Full Drivers LicenseA current CCNP qualification would be beneficial, although recent practical Cisco experience is more important than certification alone.
