Job Description

Data Engineer - Manchester (Hybrid) - Microsoft Fabric - Up to £55,000

We're partnering with a highly successful, private equity-backed organisation that is making significant investment in its data and analytics capabilities. As part of a business-wide transformation programme, they are building a modern Microsoft Fabric platform from the ground up and are looking for a Data Engineer to play a key role in shaping its future.

This is an exciting opportunity to join at the start of a greenfield data journey where Microsoft Fabric sits at the heart of the organisation's long-term data strategy. You'll work closely with senior stakeholders to design, build and optimise a scalable enterprise data platform, enabling advanced analytics, self-service reporting and data-driven decision making across the business.

What You'll Be Doing

As part of a growing data function, you will:

Design and develop scalable data solutions using Microsoft Fabric

Build and maintain Fabric Data Factory pipelines, Dataflow Gen2 processes, and Fabric Notebooks

Develop and optimise end-to-end ELT/ETL workflows within a Fabric Lakehouse environment

Work with OneLake, Lakehouse architecture, and modern data engineering best practices

Utilise PySpark, SQL and Databricks for complex data transformation and engineering workloads

Create robust data ingestion, orchestration and monitoring processes

Support the development of enterprise-wide analytics solutions and Power BI semantic models

Drive data quality, governance and security initiatives across the platform

Collaborate with technical and business stakeholders to deliver strategic data solutions

Contribute to the future roadmap and adoption of Microsoft Fabric across the organisation
