This is a hands-on role where you’ll be involved throughout the full project lifecycle — from PLC programming and electrical design through to machine commissioning and customer installation.

The Role

  • Develop and program PLC control systems using Siemens TIA Portal

  • Work on machine automation, motion control, HMIs and servo systems
  • Produce and modify electrical control documentation
  • Support machine build, testing and commissioning
  • Fault-find and troubleshoot control systems
  • Work closely with mechanical, electrical and software engineers
  • Attend customer sites when required for installation and commissioning

About You

  • 5+ years' experience as a Controls / Automation Engineer
  • Strong Siemens TIA Portal and S7 PLC programming experience
  • Proven experience working on Special Purpose Machinery / bespoke machinery projects
  • Good understanding of electrical control systems, sensors, drives and motion

What's on Offer?

  • Up to £65,000 salary

  • Varied project portfolio with no two machines being the same
  • Career progression within an established engineering business
  • Strong technical and engineering environment
  • Ongoing development and training

If you're a Controls Engineer with strong TIA Portal experience and a background in SPM, this could be an excellent opportunity to take on technically challenging projects with a growing business.
