Job Description

Role OverviewThe Network Engineer (EMEA & APAC) is responsible for maintaining, optimizing, and securing enterprise network infrastructure across virtual regional data centers and physical branch offices. Operating within an ITIL-driven framework, this role balances Network Operations (NetOps) tier-2/3 incident resolution with Network Engineering project delivery, including SD-WAN migrations and Cloud Security rollouts.Key Responsibilities1. Incident Resolution & Tier-2/3 EscalationServe as the primary technical escalation point for the Level 1 Network Operations Center (NOC).Diagnose complex network performance bottlenecks, latency issues, and outages to maintain high availability.2. Infrastructure Deployment & Branch EngineeringLead remote staging, configuration, and provisioning of branch networking hardware.Provide remote technical leadership to field engineers during physical rack-and-stack, cabling, and patching phases.3. Project Engineering & Cloud MigrationsImplement network designs provided by Global Network Architecture teams.Execute enterprise rollouts for Software-Defined WAN (SD-WAN) and Secure Access Service Edge (SASE) architecture.4. Network Security & ComplianceExecute lifecycle patching, firmware updates, and vulnerability remediation across all network hardware.Conduct automated and manual configuration audits to ensure 100% compliance with enterprise security baselines.5. Proactive Maintenance & Capacity PlanningMonitor network telemetry and system health to identify and resolve performance degradation before impact.Technical Stack & Hardware ProfileRouting & Switching: Cisco Switches, Aruba Switching, VeloCloud SD-WAN, BGP, OSPFNetwork Security: Cisco ASA Firewalls, Cloudflare SASE / Zero Trust, IPsec VPNWireless (WLAN): Aruba Wireless, Aerohive Access Points, Wi-Fi 6Virtualization & SDN: VMware NSX (Microsegmentation), Ivanti Traffic Managers (ADC/Load Balancing)Core Network Services: DNS, DHCP, Proxy Servers, IPAMCore CompetenciesAutonomous Execution: Ability to drive complex technical project milestones independently.Systems Thinking: Capability to align network specialisation with broader enterprise IT and business objectives.Cross-Cultural Collaboration: Demonstrated success working across multi-regional, cross-functional teams in different time zones.Structured Planning: Skill in decomposing enterprise cloud migrations into actionable, resource-allocated project steps.Qualifications & CertificationsRequired QualificationsDemonstrated professional experience in a regional Network Operations (NetOps) or Network Engineering role.Strong working knowledge of enterprise IT governance, compliance, and ITIL frameworks.Preferred CertificationsNetworking: Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA), CompTIA Network+, or Aruba Certified Switching Associate (ASCA).IT Service Management: ITIL® Foundation Certification in IT Service Management.Competitive salaryHybrid workingRentokil Initial Reward Scheme23 days holiday, plus 8 bank holidaysEmployee Assistance ProgrammeDeath in service benefitHealthcareFree parkingAt Rentokil Initial, our customers and colleagues represent diverse backgrounds and experiences.
