Senior Civil & Structural EngineerAbout the Role This position will support a range of Onshore Wind, Solar PV and Battery Energy Storage (BESS) projects throughout the environmental assessment, design, and construction phases. Working in an Owner's Engineer / Technical Advisor capacity, you will provide design review, construction oversight, and project support services across renewable energy developments. Key Responsibilities Construction & Site SupervisionCarry out construction phase inspections, including foundation pre-pour and post-pour inspections.Support project administration activities, including client meetings, progress reporting, and technical query management.Review Balance of Plant (BoP) civil infrastructure designs, including:Access tracksHardstandsFoundationsControl buildingsAssociated civil infrastructureContribute to Health & Safety management through the review of:RAMS (Risk Assessments and Method Statements)Construction Environmental Management Plans (CEMP)Traffic Management Plans (TMP)Manage project quality assurance and document control activities across multiple construction projects.Support Project Managers with contract administration, payment assessments, and variation management.Design & Project Delivery SupportDevelop 2D and 3D renewable energy layouts using industry-standard design software.Assist with project management activities including:ForecastingInvoicingResource planningSupport preparation of proposals, bids, and tender submissions for renewable energy developments.Contribute to multidisciplinary project teams delivering renewable energy projects.Team Overview The Renewable Energy team provides support across the full project lifecycle, including:Project developmentDesignConstructionOperationsDecommissioningProjects include:Onshore WindSolar PVBattery Energy Storage Systems (BESS)The team works with a broad range of stakeholders, including:Renewable energy developersGovernment organisationsFinancial institutionsContractorsEquipment manufacturersInfrastructure investorsProjects are delivered across the UK, Ireland, Europe and international markets. Candidate Requirements EssentialDegree or equivalent qualification in Civil Engineering.Experience in the design and construction of renewable energy projects.Basic knowledge of GIS, InfraWorks and AutoCAD.Site-based construction experience.Understanding of:CDM RegulationsHealth & Safety requirementsCivil construction methodologiesReinforcement detailing and checkingAbility and willingness to travel extensively throughout the UK, including extended periods on site.DesirableChartered Engineer status or working towards chartership with the Institution of Civil Engineers (ICE).SMSTS certification.NEC4 Supervision accreditation.Skills & AttributesStrong communication and stakeholder management skills.Ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary teams.Strong organisational and problem-solving capabilities.Proactive approach to project delivery and continuous improvement.Flexibility to travel and support projects nationwide. xbpsjku Opportunity This role offers the opportunity to work on major renewable energy developments across wind, solar and energy storage technologies, supporting projects from early-stage development through to construction and operational handover.
